New Bremen is a small town in Lewis County, New York, in the United States. In 2010, about 2,706 people lived there. The town got its name from the city of Bremen in Germany.
This town is located on the eastern side of Lewis County. It is northeast of Lowville, which is the main town of the county.

A Look Back in Time
The first people settled in the area around New Bremen in 1798. Many of the later settlers came from Germany. The community of New Bremen was planned out in 1826 by a person named Charles Dayan.
The town of New Bremen was officially created in 1848. It was formed using parts of two other towns: Croghan and Watson.

New Bremen covers a total area of about 55.8 square miles (144.5 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 55.6 square miles (143.9 square kilometers), is land. Only a small part, about 0.2 square miles (0.52 square kilometers), is water.
Roads and Rivers
- Main Roads: New York State Route 812 runs north and south through the town. It crosses New York State Route 126, which runs east and west, near the northern border of the town.
- Rivers: The western border of New Bremen is marked by the Black River. The Beaver River flows along the northeastern border of the town. The Beaver River eventually flows into the Black River.
