The New Water Mountains are a mountain range located in the southwestern part of Arizona, a state in the United States. This mountain range forms the northern edge of the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. It also borders the northern part of the Kofa Mountains.

Exploring the New Water Mountains
This mountain range stretches from the northwest to the southeast. It is about 20 miles (32 km) (around 32 kilometers) long. The lower, southeastern part of the range is actually inside the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. As you move northwest, the New Water Mountains connect with the Plomosa Mountains. These are found in the southern area of La Paz County.
The New Water Mountains Wilderness
A large part of the central New Water Mountains is a special protected area. It's called the New Water Mountains Wilderness. This wilderness area shares a long border, about 12 miles (19 kilometers), with the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge to its north.
Black Mesa: The Highest Point
The tallest spot in the New Water Mountains is a place called Black Mesa. It stands at an impressive height of 3,639 feet (1,109 m). That's about 1,109 meters above sea level!
Getting to the Mountains
There are several ways to reach the New Water Mountains from the north. One main path leads to the Ramsey Mine. This route eventually takes you to a dry riverbed in the northern part of the mountains. Other old mines, like the Republic Mine, can also be found here.
Water Sources and Nearby Towns
You might even find some natural springs in these mountains, like Dripping Spring. There's also a well called Brintley Well, which can be reached by a fourth access route from the west. The closest town to the northern side of the New Water Mountains is Brenda. Brenda is located east of Quartzsite. You can find Brenda right on US 60, about four miles (6.4 km) (6.4 kilometers) northeast of Interstate 10.
