Newton is a small town in Cache County, Utah. It was started in 1869 by early settlers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2010, about 789 people lived there. Newton is part of the larger Logan, Utah-Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Newton is located in Utah, a state in the western United States. The town covers a total area of about 0.8 square miles (2.0 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
Newton's Past: A Brief History
Newton was first settled in 1869. A few years later, in 1871, a bridge was built over the Bear River. This bridge made it easier for people to move to this "new town" from nearby Clarkston, Utah. Newton is close to two important water sources:
- The Newton Dam reservoir is to the north.
- The much larger Cutler Reservoir is to the south.
