Nia Kai Reed, born on June 27, 1996, is an American professional volleyball player. She plays as an opposite hitter, which is a key attacking position. Nia is a member of the United States women's national volleyball team. She also plays for the Omaha Supernovas in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Nia Reed's Early Life
Nia Reed was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Her parents are William and JoMoree. She grew up in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Nia went to high school at Immaculate Heart Academy.
During her time at Immaculate Heart, she was a starter for four years. She helped her team win four state championships in a row. Nia was named Player of the Year in 2011, 2012, and 2013. She also played for the USA Volleyball Girls' Youth A2 team. Nia was one of the top recruits in her class. She chose to play college volleyball at Penn State.

College Volleyball Journey
Nia Reed played college volleyball at Penn State. She started her career in 2014 and played for five seasons. In her first year, she "redshirted," which means she practiced with the team but did not play in official matches. This allowed her to gain experience.
Penn State won the NCAA national championship in 2014. Nia was part of the team during this winning season. In 2017, she helped Penn State reach the Final Four of the NCAA tournament. In 2018, her final season, she was recognized as an All-American. She led her team with 3.26 kills per set. Penn State also won a Big Ten title in 2017.

Playing for Team USA
In May 2022, Nia Reed made her first appearance for the United States women's national volleyball team. She was chosen to be on the roster for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League tournament. This was a big step in her career, representing her country.
