Starting Out at Dacia Pitești

Dică began his professional football journey at 18 years old. He joined a local team called Dacia Pitești.

In his first year, he played 17 games and scored 5 goals. The next season, he became a key player. Dacia finished fourth in the Romanian Divizia B league. Dică was one of the top scorers that season with 14 goals.

Moving to Argeș Pitești

Because of his talent, a bigger club, FC Argeș Pitești, signed him in 2000. This club was in the top league, Divizia A.

He played his first game for FC Argeș Pitești in a 2–1 win. Soon, he became the team captain. This happened after other important players moved to different clubs.

Success with Steaua București

In December 2003, Steaua București, a very famous Romanian club, signed Dică. He joined them after being recommended by important football figures.

He played his first European game in the 2004–05 UEFA Cup. Steaua did very well, even beating former champions Valencia. They reached the Round of 16 in that competition.

In 2005, Steaua had another great season in the UEFA Cup. They beat many strong teams, including their rivals Rapid București. They made it all the way to the semi-finals. There, they were knocked out by the English team, Middlesbrough.
