Niederbipp is a town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the Oberaargau administrative district. This district is part of the canton of Bern. A canton is like a state or region in Switzerland. On January 1, 2020, the nearby town of Wolfisberg joined with Niederbipp.

History of Niederbipp

Niederbipp is a very old settlement. It was first mentioned in records way back in the year 968. At that time, its name was simply Pippa. Later, in 1302, it was called Nider-Bippe. This shows how the town's name has changed over many centuries.
