Niklas Almqvist was born on January 26, 1977. He is better known by his stage name, Nicholaus Arson. He is the lead guitarist and sings backup for the Swedish rock band called The Hives. His brother, Howlin' Pelle, is the lead singer of the band.
The Hives: Band History
Nicholaus Arson and his brother Per, also known as Howlin' Pelle, started The Hives band in 1993. The band's story says they got noticed by a person named Randy Fitzsimmons. This person helped the band become famous.
Some people think Randy Fitzsimmons is not a real person. It was found that Randy Fitzsimmons is a name registered to Nicholaus Arson. This made many believe that Nicholaus Arson writes the band's songs himself. However, Nicholaus and the other band members say that Randy Fitzsimmons is a real songwriter.
Nicholaus's Guitar Gear
Nicholaus Arson mostly uses Fender guitars. These are often Telecaster, Esquire, or Telecaster Deluxe models. He also plays a special guitar called "The Arsonette." This guitar was custom-built by Sundberg Guitars. It has a unique design that gives it a short, sharp sound.
His guitars often match the band's stage outfits. They come in different black and white colors. Nicholaus uses white Hiwatt amplifiers. He also uses a few special effects pedals for certain songs. These include an Electro-Harmonix Micro POG and a Boss DD-3 digital delay.
