Nina Badrić (born 4 July 1972) is a famous Croatian pop singer and songwriter. She started her music career in the early 1990s. Nina tried to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest four times. She came in 7th place in 1993, 10th in 1994, 18th in 1995, and 2nd in 2003. Finally, in 2012, Nina represented Croatia at Eurovision in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her song was called "Nebo". She finished 12th in the semi-final and did not make it to the grand final.

Early life and beginnings
Nina Badrić went to primary school "Otokar Keršovani". She began singing in a children's choir called Zvjezdice when she was nine years old. She sang with the choir for seven years. During this time, she also sang backing vocals for famous bands like Parni valjak and Prljavo kazalište.
Music career
Starting out
In the early 1990s, the well-known musician Dino Dvornik discovered Nina. He helped her begin her music journey. Later, she had her first big performance at 'Crovizija'. She won with the song "Ostavljam te". She worked with Rajko Dujmić, Jesenko Houra, and her first manager Daniel Koletić on this song.
Soon after, she signed her first professional contract with Croatia Records. In 1995, she released her first album, Godine nestvarne. Nina had her first major success singing a duet with Emilija Kokić. The song was called "Ja sam vlak".
Growing success
Nina released her second album, Personality, in 1997. She won two Porin awards for it. These awards were for best female vocal performance and best pop album. She also sang a version of "I'm So Excited" by the American R&B group The Pointer Sisters. This helped her gain some international attention.
In 1999, she released her album Unique. It had 13 songs, including two versions of "Woman in Love". She worked with many Croatian musicians, like Boytronic.
New millennium and Eurovision
With the song "Nek ti bude kao meni", Nina announced her fourth album, Nina. It was released in 2000. This album had twelve songs and was produced by Darko Juranović. It also featured the song "Ako kažeš da me ne voliš" with a music video.
In 2003, she released a collection of her songs called Collection. She also released her fourth studio album, Ljubav. This album had thirteen songs. The songs "Čarobno jutro" and "Za dobre i loše dane" became popular singles.
On 14 February 2005, Nina performed a concert in Zagreb. This concert supported a UNICEF campaign to help children without homes. The concert was filmed. That same year, Nina released a live album from the concert. It was called Ljubav za ljubav – Live.
In November 2007, she released her seventh studio album, 07. The album starts with "Kralj života mog", a duet with the Romani singer Ljiljana Petrović-Buttler. It also has another duet, "Ne dam te nikom", with Montell Jordan. The album took two years to record. In November 2011, Nina released the album NeBo.
Nina Badrić represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. She sang the song "Nebo". She performed in the second semi-final. She finished 12th with 42 points and did not make it to the final.
Recent work
After Eurovision, Nina Badrić went on a tour in the region. In 2013, she recorded a duet called "Duše su se srele" with Bosnian singer Mirza Šoljanin. In January 2015, she recorded another duet, "Lozinka za raj", with Serbian singer Željko Vasić. In July 2016, Nina performed her song "Dani i godine" at the wedding of famous athletes Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Personal life
Nina Badrić married Bernard Krasnić in 2006. They divorced in 2012. Nina is a very religious Roman Catholic. She often goes on pilgrimages to holy places like Lourdes, Medjugorje, and Šurkovac.
