Nina Badrić (born July 4, 1972) is a famous pop singer and songwriter from Croatia. She is known for her powerful voice and has released many popular albums.

Nina started her music career in the early 1990s. She tried to represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest four times by competing in a show called "Dora." In 2012, she finally got her chance and sang her song "Nebo" at Eurovision in Baku, Azerbaijan. She performed in the semi-final but did not make it to the grand final.

Early Life and First Steps in Music

Nina Badrić was born in Zagreb, Croatia. When she was nine years old, she joined a children's choir called Zvjezdice, which means "Little Stars." She sang with the choir for seven years.

As a teenager, she started singing backup vocals for famous Croatian bands like Parni valjak and Prljavo kazalište. This gave her valuable experience in the music world.

Music Career

Getting Started

In the early 1990s, a well-known musician named Dino Dvornik noticed Nina's talent and helped her start her career. Her first big performance was on a TV show where she won with the song "Ostavljam te."

After this success, she signed a contract with Croatia Records. In 1995, she released her first album, Godine nestvarne. She became even more popular with her song "Ja sam vlak," a duet with the singer Emilija Kokić.

Growing Success

In 1997, Nina released her second album, Personality. This album was a big hit and won her two Porin awards, which are like the Croatian version of the Grammy Awards. She won for Best Female Vocal Performance and Best Pop Album.

Nina also recorded a cover of the song "I'm So Excited" by the American group the Pointer Sisters. Her version became popular in other countries, especially Italy. This led to her releasing an English-language album called Me!. In 1999, she released another album, Unique, which included her version of the famous song "Woman in Love."

Career from 2000 to Today

In 2000, Nina released her fourth album, Nina. It had twelve songs, including the popular single "Ako kažeš da me ne voliš." Three years later, she released the album Ljubav, which means "Love."

In 2007, her album 07 came out. It featured duets with other famous singers, including Ljiljana Petrović-Buttler and American singer Montell Jordan. In 2011, she released the album NeBo, which included the song she would later sing at Eurovision.

After performing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, Nina went on a tour across the region. She has continued to record music, often collaborating with other artists. In 2016, she performed her song "Dani i godine" at the wedding of famous sports stars Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Personal Life

Nina was married to Bernard Krasnić from 2006 to 2012. She is a devout Roman Catholic and often visits religious sites like Lourdes and Medjugorje.

During the 2007 Croatian elections, she performed at events to help raise money for the Croatian Democratic Union political party.
