The Island is an exciting miniseries from the popular computer-animated TV show, Ninjago. It was created by Michael Hegner and Tommy Andreasen. This special four-episode story aired in March 2021. Each episode is about 11 minutes long, just like the very first Ninjago pilot episodes.

This miniseries takes place after the thirteenth season, Master of the Mountain. It sets the stage for the fourteenth season, Seabound. In The Island, the brave ninja heroes travel to a mysterious island. This island is home to a unique tribe of islanders. The story also brings back a character named Clutch Powers. The ninja must solve the puzzle of a giant sea creature called Wojira. The main bad guys in this adventure are Chief Mammatus and his group, the Keepers.

When The Island Was Released

The first official poster for The Island was shown on January 14, 2021. It featured the ninja and a cool armed totem pole. A short preview trailer was released on the Lego YouTube channel on February 5, 2021. A longer, full trailer followed on February 12, 2021.

A short video introducing "Twitchy Tim" Timothy Batterson was released on YouTube on March 2, 2021. It was called Ninjas Meet Twitchy. The miniseries officially aired from March 7 to March 14, 2021.

The Story of The Island

The adventure begins when a team goes missing on a mysterious island. This team includes Misako, Master Wu, Clutch Powers, and his helpers. The island is known for its dangerous storms. The ninja must find them! They get help from Timothy "Twitchy Tim" Batterson. Tim had been to the island years ago and is still scared because he was struck by lightning many times there. But he agrees to help the ninja.

After a tough journey, the ninja reach the island. They find the missing team's empty camp. While exploring, they meet a friendly dragon and name it Zippy. Soon, living stone statues attack them. These statues can use the ninja's elemental powers! Nya, Zane, Kai, and Cole are captured by the islanders, called the Keepers. They find Misako, Master Wu, and Clutch Powers also held captive. Luckily, Lloyd and Tim manage to escape.

The captured ninja are taken to Chief Mammatus, the Keepers' leader. He believes they are trying to steal the Storm Amulet. He explains that this amulet was taken from the head of a huge sea serpent dragon named Wojira. Taking the amulet made Wojira fall into a deep sleep. For thousands of years, the Keepers have promised to protect the amulet from Wojira.

The ninja are put in prison. Jay is taken to a secret place by the Keepers. They call him "The Gift of Jay." Lloyd finds the Keepers' Village and frees the ninja with Zippy's help. Meanwhile, Clutch Powers tries to steal the amulet. But the ninja are captured again! They watch as the Keepers prepare to sacrifice Jay to make the reawakened Wojira happy.

However, Lloyd finds a wooden tooth. He realizes that Wojira is not real! He tells Chief Mammatus. The Chief explains that since Wojira "returned," the Keepers have been giving away their treasures to calm her down. Jay finds a hidden cave by the coast. He discovers it's a secret hideout for bad guys who escaped from Kryptarium Prison! Ronin was behind the whole plan. He tricked the Keepers into giving him their treasures.

The ninja fight Ronin's henchmen. Ronin tries to escape, but Tim stops him. Tim bravely overcomes his fear and crashes into Ronin's fake Wojira boat. After the battle, Clutch Powers tries to steal the Storm Amulet again. But Nya stops him! The ninja and the Keepers become friends. In the very last scene, we see the real Wojira sleeping in an underwater temple. She has another amulet, called the Wave Amulet, on her forehead.
