Noa Denmon (born in 1995 or 1996) is an American artist and illustrator. She is known for her amazing artwork in children's books. In 2021, she won a special award called the Caldecott Honor. This award was for her illustrations in the book A Place Inside of Me. Zetta Elliott wrote this book.

Early Life and Education
Noa Denmon was born in Greenfield. This is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born in either 1995 or 1996.
She went to the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School. Here, she became very interested in art. She graduated from this school in 2014. After high school, she studied at the University of the Arts. This university is in Philadelphia. She earned her first degree in 2018. Then, she got a master's degree in teaching art in 2019.
Artistic Career and Achievements
In 2019, Denmon illustrated the picture book A Place Inside of Me. Zetta Elliott wrote the story. The book was published in July 2020. On January 25, 2021, Noa Denmon received a Caldecott Honor award. This was for her beautiful illustrations in the book. The book shows a Black child's feelings. It explores how they cope with a sad event in their community.
Denmon's artwork for the book used shades of blue, pale yellow, and mauve. Critics really liked her art. One reviewer praised her "textured, dynamic illustrations." They also noted how she showed a diverse Black community. Her art also featured important Black figures from history.
Google Doodle Illustration
Google invited Noa Denmon to create a Google Doodle. This special artwork was for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2021. The doodle was shown on Google's homepage on January 18, 2021. It showed two different scenes. One part was in black and white. It showed people from the 1960s listening to Martin Luther King Jr. speak. The other part was in color. It showed modern people creating a mural about King's life. They were also keeping a socially distanced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Denmon's doodle was inspired by the George Floyd protests in 2020. It also drew from her own experiences as a Black woman.
Other Illustration Projects
Besides A Place Inside of Me, Denmon has illustrated other children's book covers. She has also created illustrations for famous newspapers. These include The New York Times and The Washington Post. She also worked for The Marshall Project.
Noa Denmon is also set to illustrate a new picture book. It is called Wall of Respect. Jabari Asim wrote this book. It is planned to be published in 2024.

As of 2021, Noa Denmon lives in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania.
