North Cape May is a community in New Jersey, located in Cape May County. It's part of Lower Township. This area is known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's a specific area defined by the census bureau for gathering population data.

History of North Cape May

North Cape May used to be its own small town, called a borough, starting in 1928. It was created from parts of Lower Township. However, it didn't stay independent for long. In 1945, it became part of Lower Township again. When it was a borough, its population was very small, with only 5 people in 1930 and 8 people in 1940.

North Cape May covers a total area of about 1.49 square miles (3.86 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 1.46 square miles (3.78 square kilometers). A small part, about 0.037 square miles (0.096 square kilometers), is water.

North Cape May has grown over the years. In 2010, about 3,226 people lived here. By 2020, the population had grown to 4,007 people.
