North Charleroi is a small town, called a borough, located in Washington County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,302 people lived there.
This town is also known by the nickname "Lock 4". This name comes from an old lock and dam, called Lock and Dam #4, that used to be on the Monongahela River near the town. Even though the lock and dam were moved further upstream later, many people still call the town "Lock 4".
History of North Charleroi
The Charleroi-Monessen Bridge, which connects North Charleroi to another town, is an important landmark. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. This means it's a special place recognized for its historical importance.
