North East Delhi is one of the many special areas, called districts, that make up Delhi, a big city in India. This district was created in 1997.
North East Delhi is located next to the Yamuna River on its western side. It shares borders with Ghaziabad District to the north and east. To the south, you'll find East Delhi, and across the Yamuna River to the west is North Delhi. This area is very crowded with many people living close together. It has not developed as quickly as some other parts of Delhi. For example, when other districts got upgrades for the Commonwealth Games, North East Delhi did not see much improvement.
