The North River is part of a larger water system. This system includes Great Bay and the Piscataqua River. All these waters eventually flow into the Atlantic Ocean.
The River's Journey
The North River starts its journey at North River Pond. This pond is located in the northern part of Nottingham, New Hampshire. From there, the river flows towards the southeast.
Flowing Through Towns
As it travels, the North River passes through different areas. It winds its way through hilly and wooded lands. The river crosses the entire town of Nottingham. It also goes through a small part of Lee. Finally, it reaches the northern section of Epping.
Joining Other Waters
In Epping, the North River meets the Lamprey River. The Lamprey River is a larger waterway. The North River also has its own smaller streams that flow into it. One important stream is the Bean River. The Bean River joins the North River from the west, in the middle of Nottingham.
