North Star is a small community known as a hamlet located in northern Alberta, Canada. It is part of the County of Northern Lights, which is a type of local government area.

This hamlet is found right on the Mackenzie Highway (also called Highway 35). It's about 7 kilometers (or 4.3 miles) south of a town called Manning. North Star sits at an elevation of 490 meters (about 1,608 feet) above sea level.

North Star is located within a larger area called Census Division No. 17. This division helps with organizing population data. It's also part of the Peace River federal riding, which is an area that elects a representative to the Canadian Parliament.
