Northern Heights is a small area or 'locality' in South Australia. It's like a suburb that's part of the bigger town of Murray Bridge. This area is special because it sits on higher ground, about 900 meters away from the west bank of the famous Murray River.
What is Northern Heights?
Northern Heights is known as a 'suburban satellite locality.' This means it's a community that's close to a main town, Murray Bridge, but still has its own identity. It helps make up the larger Murray Bridge area.
Where is Northern Heights Located?
Northern Heights is found on the western side of the Murray River. It's built on higher land, which is why it's called "Heights." A small waterway called Preamimma Creek runs nearby. This creek helps separate Northern Heights from an area known as Mobilong Swamp.
At the very top corner of Northern Heights, you'll find a place called Paradise Hill. This hill used to have a different name, Hungry Hill, but it was changed to Paradise Hill. It's a notable landmark in the area.
