Northfield is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is about 19 miles (30 kilometers) north of downtown Chicago. In 2020, about 5,751 people lived there. Northfield is known as one of the nice residential areas north of Chicago. It is part of the larger North Shore region.
