Norway is a small city located in Benton County, Iowa, United States. In 2020, about 466 people lived there. It is located about 17 miles (27 km) southwest of Cedar Rapids. Norway is also part of the larger Cedar Rapids area. You might know Norway from the movie The Final Season, which was set there.

A Look at Norway's History
Norway was officially started in 1863. A man named Osman Tuttle planned the town. He was born in a place called Hjelmeland in Norway. Two years before Norway, Iowa, was founded, the Chicago and Northwestern Railway had built train tracks through this area.
Osman Tuttle gave five acres of land to the railway company. He had one condition: the new town had to be named after his home country, Norway. In 1864, Tuttle officially recorded the town site, which was located north of the railway tracks, as Norway.

Education in Norway

The Union Pacific Railroad has train tracks that run along the edge of Norway. This railway is an important part of the town's transportation.
