The November 2019 Spanish general election was an important vote held in Spain on Sunday, November 10, 2019. During this election, people voted for new members of the Cortes Generales, which is like Spain's parliament. They chose all 350 members for the Congress of Deputies and 208 members for the Senate.
This election was held because the previous one, in April 2019, didn't lead to a stable government. This meant political parties had to try again to form a government that could lead the country.

Understanding the Election Results
The election results showed some interesting changes in how people voted. The number of people who voted, called voter turnout, was lower than it had been in a long time.
Who Won the Most Seats?
The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), led by Pedro Sánchez, won the most seats and the most votes. However, they didn't win enough seats to form a government all by themselves.
Other Parties and Their Changes
- The People's Party (PP) gained quite a few seats. This made them the second-largest party.
- The Vox party, which is a far-right party, also gained many more seats than before. They became the third-largest party.
- The Citizens (Cs) party lost a lot of their seats. This was a big change for them.
- Unidas Podemos, a left-wing party, lost some seats but still had a good number of representatives.
Forming a New Government
After the election, no single party had enough seats to form a government alone. To lead the country, parties often need to work together. This is called forming a coalition government.
The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) decided to team up with the Unidas Podemos party. Together, they had enough support to form a new government for Spain. Pedro Sánchez from the PSOE became the Prime Minister again.
