Numb Chucks is a fun Canadian cartoon show. It was created by Phil LaFrance and Jamie LeClaire. The show first aired on YTV in Canada on January 7, 2014. It's about two woodchucks named Dilweed and Fungus. They have good hearts and love using their clumsy kung-fu skills. Their goal is to protect everyone in their town, Ding-a-Ling Springs. The show ended on December 1, 2016, after making 52 episodes.

The Story of Numb Chucks

Before the show started, Dilweed and Fungus were just regular woodchuck brothers. They never thought they would be heroes. One night, they watched a TV infomercial. It was for a kung-fu video by a master named Woodchuck Morris.

After watching the video, they decided to become kung-fu masters themselves. They wanted to be as amazing as Woodchuck Morris. The brothers might be a bit clumsy, but they have good intentions. They become obsessed with using their new skills. Their mission is to protect the people in their town of Ding-a-Ling Springs. Dilweed and Fungus are always looking for danger to fight. They follow Woodchuck Morris's advice to help them.

Meet the Characters

The show features many funny and unique characters. Here are some of the main ones:

Dilweed Chuck

Dilweed is a yellow woodchuck. He is very focused and takes things seriously. He is the older brother of the duo, by just 15 seconds! Dilweed thinks kung fu is a very important matter. He is voiced by Terry McGurrin.

Fungus Chuck

Fungus is a brown woodchuck. He is emotional and sometimes a bit unfocused. He has a happy and easygoing personality. Fungus secretly wants to be as awesome as his older brother, Dilweed. He looks up to Dilweed a lot. Fungus can be clumsy and is scared of many things. He was voiced by Lou Attia in Season 1 and Cory Doran in Season 2.

Quills the Porcupine

Quills is a happy and helpful purple porcupine. She works at "Pin Heads," the bowling alley in Ding-a-Ling Springs. Quills is the only employee there and doesn't go outside much. She finds the Numb Chucks' adventures exciting. Quills supports their martial arts dreams. She wants to be like them, even though their silliness can sometimes annoy her. Quills is voiced by Bryn McAuley.

Buford G. Butternut

Buford is a blue sheep. He is often jealous, lazy, and easily annoyed. He lives with his Grandma. Buford's Grandma loves the Numb Chucks, which makes Buford look bad. So, Buford tries to get rid of the Numb Chucks. He wants to show his Grandma how silly they are. Buford used to be different when he was younger.

Grandma Butternut

Grandma Butternut is a yellow sheep. She is feisty, direct, and kind. She is Buford's grandmother and lives with him. She is often disappointed with Buford. Grandma is polite and sweet to everyone else. She really likes the helpful Numb Chucks. They remind her of the "good old days" in Ding-a-Ling Springs. She also likes to bother Hooves sometimes. Grandma is voiced by Julie Lemieux.

Sir Rupert Van Der Hooves

Hooves is a nervous moose. He is very high-strung and delicate. He lives next door to the Numb Chucks, which can be stressful! Hooves went to high school with Woodchuck Morris. This makes the Numb Chucks like him, which Hooves doesn't enjoy. Hooves loves gardening, cleaning, relaxing, and reading. He doesn't like it when the Chucks or Grandma Butternut invade his personal space. He speaks with a German accent. Hooves is voiced by Robert Tinkler.

Woodchuck Morris

Woodchuck Morris is the Numb Chucks' kung-fu hero. He is the host of their favorite training video, "The Way Of the Chuck." This video is a funny version of "The Way of The Dragon," a movie by Chuck Norris. Woodchuck Morris is very strong and brave. He fears nothing! He doesn't like feeling sorry for himself, evil, or giving up. His main goal is to share the lessons of kung fu. He is the person the Numb Chucks want to be like. Woodchuck Morris is voiced by Joris Jarsky.
