Early Life and Education
Nuno Gomes Nabiam finished his high school studies at Kwame Nkrumah National High School. He then went to the Higher Institute of Civil Aviation Engineering in Kyiv, Ukraine. There, he earned a degree in civil aviation. He received a special scholarship for civil aviation in 1986. Later, he continued his studies in the United States. In the U.S., he earned a master's degree in business management. This degree helped him learn how to manage businesses and organizations.
Political Journey
Nuno Gomes Nabiam started his political journey early. In 1978, he became an active member of the African Youth Amílcar Cabral. This was a group for young people interested in politics. By 1980, he joined the PAIGC political party. He was a dedicated member of this party.
In 2012, the government of Guinea-Bissau gave him an important role. He was made the chairman of the board of directors. This was for the Guinea-Bissau Civil Aviation Agency. This agency helps manage flights and airports in the country.
On February 28, 2020, Nuno Gomes Nabiam was chosen to be the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau. The Prime Minister is the head of the government. He is a member of a political group called the Assembly of the People United. He is also known as a political scientist and a military officer. For a short time, from June 1, 2021, to June 15, 2021, he also served as the Acting President of Guinea-Bissau.
