Nuno Gomes Nabiam (born 17 November 1966) is a politician from Guinea-Bissau. He served as the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau from February 2020 to August 2023.
Early Life and Education
Nuno Gomes Nabiam finished high school at Kwame Nkrumah National High School. He then studied civil aviation engineering in Kyiv, Ukraine. He received a scholarship for this in 1986.
Later, he continued his studies in the United States. There, he earned a master's degree in business management. In April 2020, he and three government ministers tested positive for COVID-19.
Political Journey
Nuno Gomes Nabiam became involved in politics at a young age. In 1978, he became an activist in the African Youth Amílcar Cabral. By 1980, he was an active member of the PAIGC political party.
In 2012, the government of Guinea-Bissau chose him for an important role. He was appointed chairman of the board of directors for the country's Civil Aviation Agency.
On 28 February 2020, Nuno Gomes Nabiam was named the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau. He is a member of the Assembly of the People United political party. He is also a political scientist and a military officer. He briefly served as the Acting President of Guinea-Bissau in June 2021.
