A Look Back in Time
Oberentfelden is a very old place! It was first written about in the year 965. Back then, it was called Endiveld. Later, in 1306, people started calling it Oberen-En[t]velt.

Oberentfelden covers an area of about 7.2 square kilometers (2.8 square miles). A big part of this land, almost 30%, is used for farming. Forests cover even more, about 42% of the area.
About 28% of the land is built up with buildings and roads. Only a tiny bit, 0.3%, is made up of rivers or lakes. Oberentfelden is in the lower Suhr valley. The towns of Oberentfelden and Unterentfelden are very close. They have grown so much that they almost look like one big town!
The Story Behind the Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Oberentfelden is quite special. It shows a duck swimming on wavy blue and white lines, with two gold stars above.
When the town was first named Endiveld, it sounded like Entenfeld, which means "duck field" in German. Because of this, a duck was put on the town's coat of arms. However, historians later found out that Endiveld actually means "end of the field". It had nothing to do with ducks!
Even though the duck was there by mistake, people loved it. When there was a suggestion to change the coat of arms, the people of Oberentfelden voted strongly to keep their beloved duck.
