The Ocosito River (pronounced oh-koh-SEE-toh) is an important river located in the country of Guatemala. It starts high up in the mountains and flows all the way to the Pacific Ocean. This river helps shape the land and supports life along its path.

The Journey of the Ocosito River

The Ocosito River begins its journey in the Sierra Madre mountain range. These mountains are found in the Quetzaltenango area of Guatemala. From its source, the river flows southwards.

As the river travels south, it passes through the Retalhuleu department. After this, it turns west. Finally, the Ocosito River empties into the vast Pacific Ocean.
