Ohiowa is a small village located in Fillmore County, Nebraska, in the United States. It's a quiet place with a population of about 122 people, according to the 2020 census.
History
Ohiowa was officially planned and marked out in 1886. This happened when the railroad lines were extended to reach this area. The name "Ohiowa" is quite unique! It was chosen because many of the first settlers came from the states of Ohio and Iowa. This is why the village's name includes the full names of two different states.
Geography

In 2010, the village of Ohiowa had 115 residents. These people lived in 53 different households. About 30 of these households were families. The village had about 460 people per square mile. There were 70 housing units in total.
Most of the people living in Ohiowa were White (about 97.4%). A small number were Native American or from other backgrounds. About 9.6% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
About a quarter of the households had children under 18 living there. Nearly half of the households were married couples living together. Some households were led by a single female or male parent. About 39.6% of all households were individuals living alone. Many of these individuals were 65 years old or older.
