Oio is surrounded by different places. To the north, it shares a border with the country of Senegal. This means you can travel from Oio directly into Senegal.
To the east, Oio borders other regions within Guinea-Bissau. These are the Bafatá, Bissau, and Biombo regions. To the south, it borders the Quinara region, which is near the Rio Geba river. Finally, to the west, Oio borders the Cacheu region of Guinea-Bissau.
