Oisín Quinn, born on May 16, 1969, is an Irish judge and lawyer. He used to be a politician. Since July 2023, he has been a judge in the High Court of Ireland. Before that, he was the Lord Mayor of Dublin from 2013 to 2014. He also served on the Dublin City Council from 2004 to 2014.

Early Life and Education
Oisín Quinn went to school at Castleknock College. He studied law at University College Dublin and the University of London. In 1992, he became a barrister, which is a type of lawyer who argues cases in court.
Family Connections
His uncle, Ruairi Quinn, used to be the leader of the Labour Party. His father, Lochlann Quinn, was a director at AIB, a big bank.
Political Career
Oisín Quinn started his political career in local government.
Serving on Dublin City Council
He was first chosen to be a member of the Dublin City Council in 2004. This was during the 2004 Irish local elections for the Rathmines area. He was re-elected in 2009 for the Pembroke-Rathmines area.
Becoming Lord Mayor of Dublin
In 2013, Oisín Quinn was elected Lord Mayor of Dublin. This is a very important role in the city. During his time as mayor, he believed that the people of Dublin should directly choose their mayor. He felt this would help Dublin compete with other big cities in Europe. His term as Lord Mayor ended in 2014.
National Elections
He also tried to become a member of Dáil Éireann, which is the main parliament in Ireland. He ran in the 2007 Irish general election for the Dún Laoghaire area but was not elected. He lost his seat on the Dublin City Council in the 2014 local elections.

He started working as a barrister in 1992. In 2008, he became a Senior Counsel. This means he is a very experienced and respected lawyer.

Important Judgments
In 2025, he made a decision to permanently close three wind turbines at the Gibbet Hill wind farm in Wexford. This decision was made because of complaints about noise from the turbines.
