Oisín Quinn, born on May 16, 1969, is an important person in Ireland. He is currently a judge in the High Court, which is a very senior court. He started this role in July 2023. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a lawyer and was also a politician. He even served as the Lord Mayor of Dublin, the leader of Dublin City, from 2013 to 2014. He was also a member of the Dublin City Council for many years.

Growing Up and Studying
Oisín Quinn went to school at Castleknock College. After that, he studied law at two universities: University College Dublin and the University of London. In 1992, he became a barrister, which is a type of lawyer who argues cases in court. He qualified from the King's Inns, a special place for training lawyers in Ireland.
His family has other well-known people too. His uncle is Ruairi Quinn, who used to be the leader of the Labour Party in Ireland. His father, Lochlann Quinn, was a director at AIB, a big bank.
Political Journey
Oisín Quinn first became involved in politics when he was elected to Dublin City Council in 2004. He represented the Rathmines area. In 2007, he tried to become a member of Dáil Éireann, the Irish parliament, for the Dún Laoghaire area, but he was not elected.
He was re-elected to the Dublin City Council in 2009. In 2013, his fellow council members chose him to be the Lord Mayor of Dublin. During his time as Lord Mayor, he believed that the people of Dublin should directly elect their mayor. He thought this would help Dublin compete better with other big cities in Europe. He finished his term as Lord Mayor in 2014. Later that year, he lost his seat on the city council.
Working as a Lawyer
Oisín Quinn started his career as a barrister in 1992. This means he represented people in court. He worked hard and became a senior counsel in 2008. A senior counsel is a very experienced and respected lawyer.
Becoming a Judge
In June 2023, Oisín Quinn was chosen to become a judge of the High Court. He officially started this important role in July 2023. As a High Court judge, he makes important decisions in many different types of legal cases.
