The Ologies are a super cool series of fantasy books! They look like old, secret journals or encyclopedias. Each book is filled with amazing stories and facts about exciting topics like dragons, mummies, wizards, and even aliens!

These popular books are mostly written and edited by Dugald Steer. They are made for young readers like you. The very first book, Dragonology, was so popular it stayed on the New York Times bestsellers list for over a year!

What are the Ologies Books?

Each Ology book pretends to be a "lost" journal or notebook. These journals are supposedly written by a fictional explorer or expert. Imagine finding a secret book from a dragon expert or an ancient Egyptian adventurer!

How the Books are Designed

The books are set up like an encyclopedia, not a regular story. This means you can open them to any page and find something interesting. You can "dip in and out" of the books. But if you read them from start to finish, you'll find a hidden story unfolding.

Many talented artists help bring these books to life. They create the amazing drawings and illustrations you see inside. Some of these artists include Helen Ward, Wayne Anderson, John Howe, and Anne Yvonne Gilbert.
