Omar Rudberg is a talented singer, songwriter, and actor from Venezuela and Sweden. He was born Omar Josué González on November 12, 1998. He first became known as a member of the Swedish boy band FO&O in 2013. Later, in 2018, he started his own solo music career. Omar is most famous around the world for playing Simon Eriksson in the Netflix TV show Young Royals, which ran from 2021 to 2024.

Early Life and Beginnings
Omar Rudberg was born in Anaco, Venezuela. When he was six years old, he moved to Sweden with his mother. He later took his stepfather's last name, Rudberg.
In June 2023, Omar shared stories about his childhood on a Swedish radio show called Sommar i P1. He talked about moving to Sweden and the challenges he faced as an immigrant. He also spoke about being bullied for being different and for his love of performing. Omar shared how important music is to him and his journey in the entertainment world. Music and Acting Career
2013–2017: FO&O Boy Band
Omar started his professional music journey in 2013. He joined a Swedish boy band called FO&O. The band performed together for four years. During that time, they won many music awards and earned Platinum and Gold certifications for their songs. Their music was streamed over 80 million times on Spotify. FO&O also took part in Melodifestivalen 2017, a big music competition in Sweden. They even opened shows for famous artists like Justin Bieber and One Direction. 2018–2020: Solo Music Starts
In 2018, Omar Rudberg began his solo music career. He released his first single, "Que Pasa," with Lamix. Later that year, he released "La Mesa" with Elias Hurtig. In February 2019, he released "Om om och om igen" after performing it in Melodifestivalen 2019. This song became his first solo hit in the top 20 in Sweden. He also released "På min telephone toda la noche."
In 2020, Omar released more songs like "Dum," "Jag e nån annan," and "LÄPPAR." That same year, it was announced that he would star in the Netflix series Young Royals. This was Omar's first acting role. He said he knew people would love the show as soon as he read the script.
2021–2023: Young Royals and Global Fame
2021: First Season Success
In July 2021, Young Royals was released on Netflix. Omar quickly became known around the world because of his role in the show. He also released an EP called "Omar Covers." This EP featured songs that his character, Simon, sang in the series. In 2021, Omar also released the song "Alla ba ouff" and its Spanish version, "Yo dije ouff." In September 2021, Netflix announced that Young Royals would have a second season.
2022: New Music and Season Two
In April 2022, Omar worked with Benjamin Ingrosso on the song "La Incondicional (From Benjamin's)." In May 2022, Omar released his first solo album, OMR. This album included songs like "Mi casa su casa" and "Moving Like That," which he performed at Melodifestivalen 2022. He also released "Nakna" with Victoria Nadine and "Todo de ti (All That She Wants)."
In November 2022, the second season of Young Royals came out. Omar released "Simon's Song," an original song from the show. In December 2022, Omar appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with his Young Royals co-star Edvin Ryding. It was also announced that Young Royals would have a third and final season. Plus, Omar was cast in his first movie, Karusell, which was released in October 2023.
2023: More Songs and Awards
In January 2023, Omar released "Call Me by Your Name" with Claudia Neuser. In March, he released "I'm So Excited" and an EP of remixes called Mi Casa Su Casa (Remixes).
Omar released "She Fell in Love In the Summer" in April 2023. He was also named Best Dressed Man of the Year at the Elle-galan in Sweden. He released an acoustic version of "She Fell In Love In The Summer" and was featured on FDVM's single "All In My Head." In June, he released "Happier."
More songs followed in 2023, including "She Fell In Love In The Summer (Additional Versions)," "Happier (Remixes)," and "Coast Side (Carousel Remix)." The movie Karusell was released in theaters. Omar also released "Off My Mind" featuring Jubël. In December 2023, Omar appeared on the Swedish TV show Så mycket bättre. He performed three new songs inspired by other artists, which were released as the EP Så mycket bättre 2023 – Tolkningarna. Café magazine also named him Sweden's best-dressed man.
2024–Present: New Tours and Releases
In January 2024, Omar released music videos for the songs from his Så mycket bättre EP. These videos told a story about a sapphic couple.
On February 17, 2024, Omar performed his first solo concert in Stockholm, Sweden. The show was sold out, with about 1600 fans from over 40 countries. He sang songs from his career and a new song called "Red Light."
In March 2024, Omar announced he was invited to the 96th Academy Awards and walked the red carpet. Season 3 of Young Royals and a documentary about the show, Young Royals Forever, also debuted. Omar shared that he would be signing with a US record label, Elektra Records.
In May 2024, Omar released the single "Red Light." This was his first official international release. He also sang two new songs, "Talk" and "Bye Bye," at a live performance. His music began to be released under Atlantic Records for Nordic countries.
In June 2024, Omar performed at Gröna Lund Amusement Park and the School's Out event in Sweden. For Pride month, he covered Madonna's song "Sorry." He also announced his first European-US tour, starting in October 2024, with shows in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, New York, and Los Angeles. On June 28, he released "Talk" and "Bye Bye" under Elektra Records. A music video for "Talk" featured Omar and Swedish actor Ruben Karsberg in a flirty storyline.
In July 2024, Omar performed at Allsång på Skansen in Stockholm, singing "Red Light" and ABBA's "Mamma Mia." He was nominated for several awards at Rockbjörnen 2024, including Male Artist of the Year and Swedish Song of the Year for "Red Light."
In August 2024, Omar was featured in Variety and WWD magazines. He attended Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event in Los Angeles. He also performed at the Trädgården Festival in Kristianstad and Kulturkalaset in Gothenburg.
On September 1, 2024, Omar performed at his first international festival, the Heide Park Festival in Germany. On September 18, he won two awards at Rockbjörnen 2024: Grönan Live Act of the Year and Swedish Song of the Year for "Red Light." On September 20, he released the single "Sabotage." His Swedish label, TEN, announced an EP called Every Night Fantasy for October 18, 2024.
Omar released the EP Every Night Fantasy on October 18, 2024. This was his fourth EP and his first under Atlantic Records. He started his first European-US tour, "Omar Rudberg's Fall Tour 2024," on October 21 in London. He performed sold-out shows in Paris, Amsterdam, and Cologne. He then started the US part of his tour in Brooklyn, New York, with another sold-out show.
On November 4, 2024, Omar announced dates for his "Every Night Fantasy" Tour in February 2025, covering 11 European countries. He finished his Fall Tour 2024 in Los Angeles, California.
OMR Beauty Company
In November 2023, Omar Rudberg started his own beauty company called OMR Beauty. Its first product was a unisex scent called Intro. In February 2024, Omar met fans at Lyko's store in Stockholm, where people could buy Intro. The fragrance is now sold on Lyko's website.
In May 2024, Omar announced a second unisex scent called Duo. He created it with his Young Royals co-star Edvin Ryding. Duo was available for a limited time on the OMR Beauty website. In July 2024, OMR Beauty launched its third product, a cap with the company name.
In October 2024, Omar launched Brunch, the third unisex scent from OMR Beauty. It was a perfume oil available in limited amounts. OMR Beauty later announced two more perfume oils, Lunch and Dinner, to complete a collection called Occasions. These were released in November 2024.
