Early Life and Musical Start
Omer Fedi's father, Asher Fedi, is a very well-known drummer in Israel. His father taught him to play drums when he was very young. However, at age ten, Omer decided to focus on playing the guitar instead. He was inspired by a character who played guitar on the TV show Drake & Josh.
When Omer was 16, he and his father moved to Los Angeles to find more chances in music. Omer then went to Calabasas High School. He joined his high school's jazz band, and his guitar playing quickly became very popular. People outside of the usual parents came to watch him play. One jazz expert who worked with the band said Omer could "speak through the instrument" when he played guitar.
In 2018, Omer entered the Reno Jazz Festival. He won the "Outstanding Performer" award, beating over 9,000 other musicians. The next year, a songwriter named Sam Hook asked him to work together. Omer says he had never written a song before then, but he worked with Hook every day after school.
