Other cool things about the building include:
- Covered parking for cars.
- A restaurant and a coffee shop right inside.
- Banking services.
- Amazing views of the city and Boston Harbor.
The very top floor, called the penthouse, is home to the Harvard Club of Boston. It is also easy to get to One Federal Street from major highways and public transportation in the city.
History of the Building's Name
One Federal Street was once known as the Shawmut Bank Building. It got its new name after that bank was bought by another company.
The building stands where the old First National Bank Building used to be. The offices from that old bank moved to a new building, 100 Federal Street, in 1971. Today, both One Federal Street and the new First National Bank Building are used by Bank of America. The city's Boston Landmarks Commission is currently studying this building. They might make it a protected landmark.
