Ong is a village in Clay County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 63 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hastings, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Contents
History
Ong was platted in 1886 when the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad was extended to that point. It was named for Judge J. E. Ong, the original owner of the town site.
Geography
Ong is located at 40°23′57″N 97°50′17″W / 40.39917°N 97.83806°W (40.399265, -97.838117).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.29 square miles (0.75 km2), all of it land.

2010 census
At the 2010 census there were 63 people, 32 households, and 17 families in the village. The population density was 217.2 inhabitants per square mile (83.9/km2). There were 41 housing units at an average density of 141.4 per square mile (54.6/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.2%.
Of the 32 households 18.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.6% were married couples living together, 12.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.9% were non-families. 37.5% of households were one person and 12.5% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 1.97 and the average family size was 2.53.
The median age in the village was 50.5 years. 17.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 3.2% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 19.1% were from 25 to 44; 42.8% were from 45 to 64; and 17.5% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the village was 46.0% male and 54.0% female.
