Orosei (pronounced Oh-roh-SAY) is a charming town located on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. It is a comune, which means it's like a local government area or municipality. Orosei is part of the Nuoro province. It is about 140 kilometers (around 87 miles) northeast of Cagliari, the capital city of Sardinia. It is also about 30 kilometers (around 19 miles) east of Nuoro.
This lovely town is home to about 7,000 people. It is known for its many churches, with at least 13 of them. Two important churches are San Giacomo Apostolo and Sa Preione Vezza. Orosei shares its borders with several other towns: Dorgali, Galtellì, Onifai, and Siniscola.
