History of Orwell
Orwell has a long history, with its first post office opening way back in 1826. The village got its name from Orwell, Vermont. This is because an early settler who helped found the village came from that town.
King Training Camp
Orwell is also home to the King Training Camp. This facility is owned by a famous boxing promoter named Don King. Many well-known boxers and rising stars train here. For example, in 2006, former boxing champion Cory Spinks trained at the camp. He was getting ready for a big comeback fight.
