Oshae Jahve Brissett (pronounced oh-SHAY brih-SET; born June 20, 1998) is a Canadian professional basketball player. He currently plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, which is part of the Ligat HaAl and the EuroLeague.
Oshae played college basketball for the Syracuse Orange for two years. After college, he joined the Toronto Raptors in 2019. He later played for the Indiana Pacers starting in 2021. In 2023, Brissett joined the Boston Celtics, where he helped them win an NBA championship in 2024. He moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2025.

Early Life and Basketball Start
Oshae Brissett was born in Toronto, Canada. His parents are McKeitha McFarlane and Bernard Brissett. He has Jamaican family roots.
He spent his early childhood in Toronto before moving to Mississauga. Oshae first went to high school at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School. To get better at basketball and increase his chances of playing for a major college, he moved away from home. He attended Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. After that, he returned to Canada and spent a year at the Athlete Institute in Mono, Ontario. He was the team captain there and played very well.
College Basketball Journey
Oshae Brissett decided to play for Syracuse University. He had also received offers from other big schools like USC and Oregon.
He immediately became a starter for the Syracuse team. In his first year, he averaged about 14.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. After his first year, some people thought he might try to join the 2018 NBA draft. However, he decided to return to Syracuse for his second year.
In his second year, Oshae averaged 12.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. After this season, he decided to enter the NBA Draft. This meant he gave up his last two years of college eligibility. However, he was not chosen by any team in the draft.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing for the Toronto Raptors (2019–2020)
Even though he wasn't drafted, Oshae Brissett signed with the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association on July 23, 2019. His contract was later changed to a two-way contract. This meant he would play for both the Raptors and their minor league team, the Raptors 905, in the NBA G League.
He played his first NBA game on November 19 against the Miami Heat. On January 7, 2020, he had his best game of the season, scoring 12 points and getting six rebounds. In the G League, he averaged 15.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. The Raptors later offered him a new contract, but he was waived (released) by the team before the 2020–21 season began.
Time with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2021)
In 2021, Oshae was picked by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA G League draft. He played in 12 games for them. He averaged 18.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. His strong performance earned him a spot on the All-NBA G League Second Team.
Joining the Indiana Pacers (2021–2023)
On April 1, 2021, Brissett signed a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. He signed a second 10-day contract soon after.
On April 20, 2021, Oshae started his first NBA game for the Pacers. He scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds. The next day, he signed a three-year deal with the team. That night, he had an amazing game, scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. On May 18, 2021, he scored 23 points again in a big win against the Charlotte Hornets during the play-in tournament.
Winning a Championship with the Boston Celtics (2023–2024)
On July 6, 2023, Brissett signed with the Boston Celtics. He played his first game for the Celtics on October 27, 2023, in a win against the Miami Heat. During the 2023-24 season, he played in 55 games. He averaged about 11.5 minutes, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.7 points per game.
In Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against his old team, the Indiana Pacers, Oshae played a key role in defense. He helped the Celtics go on a big scoring run. He reached his first NBA Finals with the Celtics in 2024. The Celtics won the championship by defeating the Dallas Mavericks in 5 games, giving Oshae his first NBA title. After the season, he chose to become a free agent.
Recent Teams (2025)
On January 18, 2025, Brissett signed with the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League. Later, on March 14, 2025, he signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He then joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel in 2025.
Playing for His Country
On May 24, 2022, Oshae Brissett committed to playing for the Canadian senior men's national basketball team for three years. This means he will represent Canada in international competitions.

Family Life
Oshae Brissett has an older brother named Dejon. Dejon is also a professional athlete. He was drafted second overall in the 2020 CFL draft by the Toronto Argonauts, a Canadian football team.
