PJ's Coffee facts for kids
PJ's Coffee of New Orleans is a popular chain of coffee shops in America. It started with one small shop in New Orleans in September 1978. A woman named Phyllis Jordan founded it, and that's where the "PJ" in the name comes from!
PJ's Coffee first grew around the Greater New Orleans area. Soon, it began opening "franchises," which are like independent shops that use the PJ's name and recipes. The first franchise opened in Mandeville, Louisiana, in 1989. After that, PJ's Coffee shops started appearing across the Southeast and in other parts of the country, like California.
