The Pacific Gas & Electric Building is a very tall building, known as a skyscraper, located in the financial district of San Francisco, California. It stands at 77 Beale Street. This building was finished in 1971.

It has 34 floors and reaches about 150 meters (492 feet) high. For many years, it has been the main office, or headquarters, for the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. This company provides electricity and natural gas to homes and businesses in much of Northern California and parts of Southern California.

About the PG&E Building

The PG&E Building is a well-known part of San Francisco's skyline. It is in the financial district, which is a busy area with many offices and businesses. The building was designed by Hertzka & Knowles, a team of architects.

Home to Falcons

Since 1987, something special has happened at the PG&E Building. A pair of peregrine falcons has chosen the building as their home. These amazing birds are known for being the fastest animals on Earth. They often build their nests on tall buildings or cliffs.

The falcons have raised many chicks on the building over the years. People enjoy watching them and learning about their lives. It shows how nature can thrive even in a big city.

A New Headquarters

In June 2020, Pacific Gas & Electric announced a big change. The company plans to move its main headquarters from San Francisco. They will move to the Kaiser Center in Oakland.

This move will happen in different stages. It is expected to start in 2022 and be fully completed by 2026. This means the PG&E Building will no longer be the company's main office after that time.
