The Palacio de Galiana was built on a special spot. Before it was a palace, there was a summer house and garden here. This lovely place belonged to King Al-Mamun. He was a ruler from the Taifa of Toledo.

King Alfonso X decided to build his own palace on this historic site. He wanted a grand building in the 13th century. The palace shows off a unique style called Mudéjar architectural style. This style blends Christian and Islamic art.
