What Makes Palapa Azul Special?

Palapa Azul's treats have a special Mexican touch. This means they offer flavors you might not find everywhere else!

Unique Flavors

You can find interesting ice cream flavors like sweet corn and cajeta. Cajeta is a yummy caramel made from goat milk, often used like dulce de leche. They also have Mexican chocolate, which has a hint of cinnamon spice.

For sorbets, they make one from the hibiscus flower, called Jamaica.

Tasty Fruit Bars

The company first launched its frozen fruit bars in 2004. These bars come in exciting mixes like cucumber-chile and mango-chile. They also have single-flavor bars made from fruits like Mexican papaya, strawberry, mango, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapefruit, and pineapple.

When the founders first asked people what flavors they liked, they noticed something interesting. Women were often excited to try new flavors like mango-chile. But many men preferred classic flavors like strawberry, even if there were lots of new options!

Some other flavors they thought about making, but haven't yet, include prickly pear, plum, and kiwi.

How Palapa Azul Started

The frozen fruit bars were first shown to food businesses in January 2004 at a big event called the Winter International Fancy Food Show. Many important stores and news groups thought the fruit bars were the "Best of Show"! Later, in June 2005, Palapa Azul introduced their ice cream and sorbet products.
