Palitos de la selva facts for kids
Palitos de la selva ("Jungle Sticks") are a super popular and chewy candy from Argentina. They have been around since the 1950s! These tasty treats are also enjoyed in Uruguay and Paraguay. They are made by a company called Cadbury Stani Adams Argentina.
What are Palitos de la Selva?
Palitos de la selva are famous for their unique look and taste. Each candy is about 6 centimeters long and 1.5 centimeters wide. It weighs around 3 grams. The candy has two halves: one is white and tastes like vanilla, and the other is pink and tastes like strawberry.
Fun Wrappers and Games
One of the most exciting things about Palitos de la selva is their wrapper! Each wrapper shows a different animal from the jungle. It also gives a short description of the animal. This is how the candy got its name, "Jungle Sticks."
Recently, the wrappers have become part of a fun game. It's a bit like "rock, paper, scissors." The game is based on where the animal on the wrapper lives. Animals can live on Land, in Water, or in the Air. Kids can play by comparing their animal's habitat!
Different Flavors Over Time
Over the years, Palitos de la selva have introduced new flavors. In the 1990s, a new version came out that tasted like banana and vanilla.
Then, in 2005, a much bigger version was launched. It was three times the size of the original candy! This "gigantic" Palito de la selva had a new flavor combination: grape and vanilla.
