About Parks Creek
Where Parks Creek Starts and Flows
Parks Creek begins where two small valleys meet. This spot is south of a town called Grovespring and just west of Missouri Route 5. The stream then flows mostly north, running right next to Route 5.
It continues its journey until it joins a bigger river called the Osage Fork. This meeting point is in southern Laclede County, just northeast of Pease and near the Missouri Route J bridge.
In the northern part of Wright County, Parks Creek flows through a special nature area. This area is known as the Dr. John Alva Fuson Conservation Area. You can also find a road named Parks Creek Road that runs alongside the creek, from Grovespring all the way north to Route J.
How Parks Creek Got Its Name
Parks Creek was named after a local family. A family with the last name Parks lived in the area, and the creek was named in their honor.
