Parks Creek is a small stream located in the Ozarks region of southern Missouri, in the United States. It flows through parts of Wright and Laclede counties. This creek is a tributary, which means it is a smaller stream that flows into a larger river. Parks Creek eventually joins the Osage Fork Gasconade River.

About Parks Creek

Where Parks Creek Starts and Flows

Parks Creek begins where two small valleys meet. This spot is south of a town called Grovespring and just west of Missouri Route 5. The stream then flows mostly north, running right next to Route 5.

It continues its journey until it joins a bigger river called the Osage Fork. This meeting point is in southern Laclede County, just northeast of Pease and near the Missouri Route J bridge.

In the northern part of Wright County, Parks Creek flows through a special nature area. This area is known as the Dr. John Alva Fuson Conservation Area. You can also find a road named Parks Creek Road that runs alongside the creek, from Grovespring all the way north to Route J.

How Parks Creek Got Its Name

Parks Creek was named after a local family. A family with the last name Parks lived in the area, and the creek was named in their honor.
