Schools in Parrish
Parrish has schools that are part of the Walker County Board of Education. These include Parrish Elementary and Parrish High School. The school mascot for Parrish High School was the Tornadoes.
Why Did Parrish High School Close?
In 2014, the Walker County Board of Education decided to close Parrish High School. This happened after the 2013–2014 school year. The decision was made because of money problems.
Students who were not graduating that year had to go to other schools. They could choose between Oakman High School in Oakman or Cordova High School in Cordova.
Parrish High School Sports
The football team from Parrish High School had a big win in 2003. They won the Class 1A State Championship. This was part of the Alabama High School Athletics Association.
