Partridge Brook is a stream about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) long. It flows through the southwestern part of New Hampshire in the United States. This brook is a branch, or "tributary," of the larger Connecticut River. The Connecticut River eventually reaches the Long Island Sound.
Where Partridge Brook Starts and Flows
Partridge Brook begins at the end of Spofford Lake. This lake is located near Spofford village in the town of Chesterfield, New Hampshire.
Its Journey Through Towns
The brook first flows towards the east. Then it turns north, and finally heads northwest. It travels into the town of Westmoreland. After its journey, Partridge Brook joins the Connecticut River.
Protecting the Brook's Shoreline
In Westmoreland, there are special rules to protect the land along the brook. These rules are part of New Hampshire's Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act. This law helps keep the riverbanks healthy and safe. It makes sure the areas next to the water are cared for.
