Patrick Mboma, born on November 15, 1970, is a famous former football player from Cameroon. He was a powerful striker, known for scoring many goals. In fact, he is the fourth highest goal-scorer ever for Cameroon's national team!

Playing for Clubs
Patrick Mboma started his football journey in 1993 in his home country, Cameroon. He played for many different teams around the world! Some of his clubs included Paris Saint-Germain in France, Gamba Osaka in Japan, and Parma in Italy. He even played for Sunderland in England, where he scored a goal against Tottenham Hotspur. He stopped playing professional football on May 16, 2005.
Playing for His Country
Mboma first played for the Cameroon national team in 1995. He scored an amazing 33 goals in 57 matches for his country. He helped Cameroon compete in two World Cups, in 1998 and 2002.
Olympic Gold and African Champion
One of his biggest achievements was leading Cameroon to a gold medal in football at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He also helped his team win the African Nations Cup twice, in 2000 and 2002.

Because of his great performances, Patrick Mboma was named the African Footballer of the Year in 2000. He also scored a very famous goal against France in 2000, which was an amazing overhead kick!
