Al-Ittihad Sports Club (in Arabic: نادي الاتحاد الرياضي) is a professional football team from Tripoli, Libya. They are one of the most successful clubs in the country.

The team has an amazing record, winning the Libyan Premier League 18 times! They have also won the Libyan Cup 7 times and the Libyan SuperCup 11 times. Al-Ittihad has also played well against teams from other countries. They reached the semi-finals (the top four teams) in major African competitions like the CAF Confederation Cup in 2010 and the CAF Champions League in 2007.

How the Club Began

Al-Ittihad Club was created on July 29, 1944. It was formed when three smaller clubs, "Al Ummal," "Al Nahda," and "Al Shabab," decided to join together, or "merge," to create one stronger team. The club's founder and first president was Mohamed Al-Krewi.

The Team's Home Stadium

Al-Ittihad plays its home games at the Tripoli Stadium. It's a huge stadium that can hold 45,000 fans. They share this stadium with two other teams from Tripoli, Al-Ahl Tripoli and Al Madina.

The club also owns a smaller stadium called Al Mala'b Al Baladi, which means "The Municipal Stadium" in Arabic. It holds 5,000 people and is now used by the team for training sessions.
