Paul Burmeister (born March 10, 1971) is an American sportscaster. He works for NBC Sports and NBC Olympics. He is known for calling games and hosting many different sports shows. Before joining NBC in 2014, he spent ten years at NFL Network as a studio host.

Paul is also the radio voice for Notre Dame football. He has called all their home and away games since 2018. He also called games for the first USFL season on NBC.

He has worked at four Olympic Games for NBC. He called water polo at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. He also called ski jumping at the Winter Games in Pyeongchang and Beijing.

Every summer, Paul hosts NBC's coverage of Tour de France, a famous bicycle race. He has hosted it since 2016. He is also part of the studio team for NBC's English Premier League soccer coverage. He hosts "Premier League Live" and "Premier League Mornings."

Paul is involved with the NFL all year. He co-hosts two podcasts: "The Chris Simms Unbuttoned podcast" and "The Peter King podcast." He was also named the Mississippi Valley Conference Player of the Year. He played basketball and baseball too. He was the school's all-time leading scorer in basketball when he graduated in 1989.

After high school, Paul went to the University of Iowa. He played quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1989 to 1993. He earned a degree in communication studies in 1994. In his senior year (1993), his teammates voted him captain and MVP. That year, his team played in the first ever Alamo Bowl.

Paul Burmeister's Professional Football Career

After college, Paul was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. This is where college players show their skills to NFL teams. In 1995, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent. He spent five months with the team.

Paul Burmeister started his broadcasting career in 1998. He worked as a sports reporter and anchor for local news stations in Iowa. He worked at KCRG in Cedar Rapids from 1998 to 2001. Then he moved to KWWL in Waterloo from 2001 to 2004.
