Lonnie Paul Dade (born December 7, 1951) was a talented American baseball player. He played as an outfielder and third baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB). Paul Dade played for three different teams during his MLB career. These teams were the California Angels, the Cleveland Indians, and the San Diego Padres.

Starting His Baseball Journey

Paul Dade was born in Seattle, Washington. He began his professional baseball journey when he was drafted. On June 4, 1970, the California Angels picked him. He was the 10th player chosen in the first round of the 1970 amateur draft.

Before reaching the major leagues, Dade played in the minor leagues. He showed great skill with the bat. For example, he hit for a .332 average in 100 games for the El Paso Diablos. He then hit an amazing .545 in 9 games for the Salt Lake City Gulls.

Making It to the Major Leagues

Paul Dade made his first appearance in Major League Baseball on September 12, 1975. He played for the California Angels. His big debut happened at Royals Stadium in Kansas City. He started the game in left field during the second game of a doubleheader.
