Paul Walter Hauser (born October 15, 1986) is an American actor. He is known for playing interesting characters in many films and TV shows. Some of his well-known roles include the main character in the movie Richard Jewell and a challenging role in the TV series Black Bird, for which he won important awards like a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. He has also appeared in family-friendly movies like Cruella and Inside Out 2.

Paul Walter Hauser was born on October 15, 1986, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. His father was a Lutheran minister. Paul went to Valley Lutheran High School, a private school in Saginaw. He later attended Concordia University Chicago but decided to leave to follow his dream of becoming an actor.
His Acting Journey
Paul Walter Hauser started his acting career with smaller roles. One of his first appearances was in the 2010 film Virginia. He also played Shawn Eckhardt in the 2017 movie I, Tonya. He became known for his ability to play many different kinds of characters.
In 2019, Paul had a big moment when he starred as the real-life security guard Richard Jewell in Clint Eastwood's film Richard Jewell. This movie told the story of Richard Jewell, who found a bomb at the Centennial Olympic Park bombing. Paul's performance in this film was highly praised.
He also played Horace Badun in the 2021 Disney movie Cruella, which is a fun story about the villain from One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Many people also know him as Raymond Porter, or "Stingray," in the popular TV series Cobra Kai. He was a recurring character in Season 2 and a major character in Seasons 4 and 5.
Paul gained even more recognition for his role as Larry Hall in the 2022 Apple TV+ miniseries Black Bird. This was a very serious role, and his acting was called "unforgettable" by critics. He won a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for this performance.
More recently, Paul has lent his voice to animated films. In 2024, he voiced "The Dark" in the DreamWorks Animation movie Orion and the Dark and "Embarrassment" in the Pixar film Inside Out 2. He has many exciting projects coming up, including a movie about the comedian Chris Farley and a new Naked Gun film.

Besides acting, Paul Walter Hauser has other talents! In 2022, he started releasing music as a rapper under the name Signet Ringer. He released his first music collection, called Murder for Higher, in July 2022.
He is also involved in professional wrestling. He is signed with Major League Wrestling (MLW) and sometimes appears in independent wrestling shows.
His Family Life
Paul Walter Hauser married Amy Elizabeth Boland on July 23, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. They have two sons. Their first son, Harris Boland Hauser, was born on April 21, 2021. He even appeared in a movie called Bandit when he was just 5 weeks old! Paul announced they were expecting their second son during his Golden Globes acceptance speech in 2023. Their second son, Jonah Maverick Hauser, was born on April 1, 2023.
Paul is a Christian. He and his wife Amy have shared their story in a video series for a Christian movement called I Am Second.
