Paweł Zatorski (born June 21, 1990) is a famous Polish volleyball player. He plays as a libero, which is a special defensive position. Paweł plays for the club Asseco Resovia and is a key player for the Polish national team.

He has played in three Olympic Games (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024). At the Paris 2024 Olympics, he won a silver medal! Paweł is also a two-time World Champion from 2014 and 2018. In 2021, he won the Champions League with his team ZAKSA.

Paweł was born in Łódź, Poland. He is known by his nicknames Zati and Duracell. He is 1.84 meters tall and weighs 73 kilograms.

Family Life

On September 10, 2016, Paweł married Agnieszka Ludkiewicz. They have two sons. Their first son, Samuel, was born on August 9, 2017. Their second son, Maksymilian, was born on July 4, 2019.

Paweł's Volleyball Journey

Paweł started his volleyball career at a young age. He played for the second team of Skra Bełchatów. There, he won two Polish Champion titles as a young player.

Club Career Highlights

In 2008, Paweł joined AZS Częstochowa. This was his first time playing in the top Polish volleyball league, called PlusLiga.

  • Return to Skra Bełchatów: In 2010, he went back to PGE Skra Bełchatów. He played there for four seasons.
    • During this time, he won two medals at the Club World Championship: a silver in 2010 and a bronze in 2012.
    • He also won a silver medal in the Champions League.
    • Paweł helped Skra win two Polish Cups (in 2011 and 2012) and two Polish Championship titles (in 2011 and 2014).
  • Joining ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle: In 2014, Paweł moved to ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
    • With ZAKSA, he won his third Polish Champion title in 2016.
    • He continued to achieve great success with ZAKSA, winning more Polish Championships and Cups.

National Team Achievements

Paweł has been a very important player for the Polish national team since 2009.

  • World League Gold: On July 8, 2012, he won a gold medal at the 2012 World League in Sofia, Bulgaria.
  • World Champion Titles:
    • In 2014, Paweł was part of the team that won the World Championship in Poland.
    • On September 30, 2018, Poland won its third World Champion title. They beat Brazil in the final and kept their title from 2014. Paweł was named the Best Libero of the tournament for his amazing defense.
  • Olympic Silver Medal: On August 10, 2024, he won a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
  • Special Recognition: For his great sports achievements, Paweł received a special award from the Polish president, called the Gold Cross of Merit.
